Sunday I hitched a ride to New York with my friend Raphie, her boyfriend, and his 3 friends. Drinking started at 2 and probably hasn't ended yet (I left last night, they were still going strong).
I'm not going to explain the rest of the night. Safe, but not at all; drunk; rash; talking; embarrassment; a forgivable let-down; sleep/no sleep; coffee; $20 cab; unnecessary explanations; missing earring. I haven't met many people that were more interesting/confusing.
Monday was Raphie's art show. I got back to her sister's apartment around 2, and we proceeded to Doma, the site of her art. It looked amazing all hung on the walls, and she sold 4 pieces in the first couple of hours! Such a talented young lady.
When I was stuck in my house on Saturday I watched "Beautiful Losers" a film about young artists just trying to live their lives. It was fantastic. Watch it.
Here are some photos by Ed Templeton, one of the artists featured in the movie.
